Tisha Tan, M.D.

Nephrologist

Experience is not what happens to you. It is what you do with what happens to you," Aldous Huxley once said. My commitment to deliver the highest quality of care to my patients came from my personal experience with my father who had chronic kidney disease. This experience had driven my passion in Nephrology, and my compassion to my patients.

Quality care starts with effectively listening to my patients' problems and concerns, addressing them systematically, giving them a clear review of their diagnosis, differential diagnoses, treatment options, and treatment plan.

Treatment is multidisciplinary. I believe in tireless efforts of involving the other members of the care team --  the primary care physician, other specialists, and the entire medical staff to collaborate in delivering the best results possible.

Most importantly, I value patient education as one of the most important tool you can equip a patient. Patient awareness and involvement in their self-care help them promote and sustain better health. Dr. Tan is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Nephrology.

Irfan Moinuddin, M.D.

Irfan Moinuddin, M.D. is board certified in Nephrology. He believes that logic, problem solving, research and continuity of care are just as important as mastering textbook knowledge. For more than a decade, he selectively taught and researched nephrology as a Hospitalist and Assistant Professor of Medicine in Illinois. Due to his vibrant, stimulating, and uplifting environment, he was inspired to write the Handbook of Nephrology published by Wolters Kluwers Lippincott in 2013.

In July 2013, Dr. Moinuddin joined the University of Arizona as a Nephrology fellow. His knowledge of Nephrology, which was nurtured as an internist, multiplied manifold in the fellowship environment. As part of the fellowship, he presented three posters at ASN and published four case reports. In 2015, he began Transplant Nephrology fellowship and acquired comprehensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of Kidney and Pancreas Transplantation.

Dr. Moinuddin presented two abstracts and an oral presentation at American Transplant Congress, published a book chapter on diagnostic kidney imaging, a book chapter on pancreas kidney transplantation, published three papers and published four case reports.

It is his philosophy that the science and art of medicine needs to be reinforced with comprehensive patient education, compliance and rigorous follow up. His clinical practice, knowledge, empathy and patient instruction works hand-in-hand to produce excellent diagnostic, therapeutic and medical outcomes.
